"I Voted Today" Sticker
"I voted today" means that you are using your dollars to support the local production of goods.
In today's economy, nothing speaks louder than the dollar, and every dollar you spend is a vote for what you want to see in your community. So make your vote count and revolutionize your community. The "I voted today" sticker means you support local, old world, hand-made traditions with your dollars.
The story of this sticker:
Back in February of 2018, in the middle of our peak season, our original bread oven broke down. Thats right. We were a bakery...without an oven. Service companies told us that parts were not available to fix it. We had no idea how long we would be down. These stickers were created to help raise funds for a new oven. Through the generosity of our incredible community and family we raised enough for a down payment on a $20,000 oven. Just two short weeks later, we were back up and running with a brand new oven that will last us for decades and perfectly suited for what we make. Our bread was forever changed for the better.
More on the Red, White and Blue Background
If you turn the sticker on its side, it is a French flag which pays homage to baking traditions that have inspired the whole world including Proof. However, these colors also signify an American patriotism that we can get behind.
The local food movement is an example of a revolution that is occurring in our world today. It brings awareness and reestablishes control over a basic human right: the right to know where your food comes from and to participate in its creation.
We believe that more people should follow their dreams, to participate in this movement, and in other local trades. The local production of goods inspires passion, skill, independence, hard work, pride, and community. We believe that by supporting local businesses with our dollars, we are forging stronger communities in this modern world.
Having this sticker connects you to a vulnerable moment in our story.
This sticker carries a lot of meaning to us. The story behind it helped shape our place as a community-supported bakery. Moments of crisis are perfect opportunities for people to come together behind common causes.
